Dear Boss From Hell

Dear Boss From Hell,

Hey you! I would really like to thank you for ruining my day. Let me start by saying this......I do not like you and your evil ways. I've been at this company for 9 years. You've been here for what? A minute? Ok, 4 months. Oooooooooh, look at you with your big six figure salary, your nice condo on the lake, and your no children having self! Aren't we big and mighty?

Today you were not nice to me. I was written up today. Seriously? Seriously!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? Are you freaking kidding me? Are we 5 or what? And you wrote me up because I made 3 PERSONAL PHONE CALLS FROM MY DESK? Last time I checked, employees were allowed to use the phone whenever they wanted. And if that rule changed, aren't you supposed to let a person know before writing them up? I've worked in HR for 9 years and NEVER have seen such a thing.

Now I KNOW you do not like me because I am the single mom in the department and only work 4 days a week. But is that really a reason to run me out? There's laws lady. Laws you are not following.

And one more thing honey. I am out of here at the end of the year. Oh yeah, I've got a demanding job and I planned on giving you two months notice. Guess what sugar? You get two weeks now. Oh yeah..........and when I leave it will be time for W2's, salary changes, benefit open enrollment, and bonuses. How will you ever figure that out for yourself? HA! Should've thought about that before you tried to screw seasoned employees. It's on now honey.........

Yours Truly,

The Single Mom That Makes Your Skin Crawl Because I Love My Daughter More Than Your Stupid Job

Sounds like you do have a boss from the bad place down below! I am so sorry that happened to you. you and your daughter need to go do something fun this weekend to try to get your mind off of this day. I have the best boss ever...and a terrific co-worker who, we understand each other. Even though dealing with people can be nerve racking, I guess I need to count my blessings....

I didn't know you could still get written up for personal phone calls! I thought as long as you weren't doing while with clients or in a meeting and it wasn't taking away from doing your job properly it was OK. Guess I was wrong! Maybe, just maybe, after a calm discussion, this boss will come to senses and take them back!!

And this is one of the many reasons why I don't work. I hate anyone bossing me around or having any control over my success. Sorry you have such a sucky boss girl.

I could sign letters to my boss in exactly the same way. Just recently she hired a new girl and when I asked about her she told me that she was just right for the company because she didn't have any kids (hence no extra days off because your kid is sick and there's no one else to look after them). That made me feel like a million bucks. But what she doesn't know is a few of us have got together with said girl and discussed what boss-woman is really like. Said girl told us she is making connections where ever possible so she can move onto something bigger and better asap. Hee hee, guess boss-woman was wrong.

That is just ridiculous. Way to come and win over the people that have been there forever....what a stupid move she made...you befriend the hard working long timers, not attack them. ugh. I wish I lived closer. I'd go smack her for you!!

You know, after I read this I couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm wondering whether she is trying to get you out because you've dropped to four days. I mean, really - allowing you to drop back and still giving you five days work? Then writing you up for personal calls when the ethical thing to do, if she'd had a problem with it, would have been to talk to you about it first. Or my other theory is that she is a bully/social psychopath - don't laugh - there's heaps of them out there and they are often bosses! (In my previous career I dealt with a number of them myself.) There is a great site called bully online dot org which helped me a great deal at the time - check it out - take your time to be really thourough and go through it all. If your boss is bullying you there are big legal implications for not only herself but the company. Keep us updated and good luck!
